The sizes refer to the length of the koshihimo. M is 213 cm, and L is 235 cm. To determine the best size for you, double your waist measurement and add 50 cm. Choose the size closest to that length.
While the contents differ between the kimono and yukata sets, having the kimono set means you can also use it for a yukata.
